Katherine Roe assists financial institutions and corporations in achieving their legal objectives.  Kate employs a thorough and practical approach to advancing her clients’ legal objectives.  She assists in all aspects of commercial transactions and advises clients on various disputes that may arise incident to those transactions.  Kate grew up in a family business and applies the skills and lessons she learned to ensure that the legal service she provides meets with the commercial goals and objectives of her clients.

Prior to joining Gebhardt & Smith, Kate served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable David E. Rice on the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Maryland.

Kate earned her J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law in 2021 and received a Business Law certificate. Kate was a member of Maryland’s Consumer Bankruptcy clinic where she represented low-income debtors filing chapter 7 bankruptcy.  She was a member of Maryland’s Business Law Society and co-captain of Maryland’s Transactional Law Team. While in Law School Kate interned for the Honorable David E. Rice.

Kate graduated from Sewanee: The University of the South in 2016 with a B.A. in Philosophy and minor in Politics. While in college, Kate was a member of the Women’s Varsity Field Hockey team, Order of the Gownsman: Sewanee’s honor society, and president of the Order of Omega: the national Greek honor society.
