James M. Smith Partner

Jim Smith is a co-founder and the Managing Partner of the firm. He focuses his practice upon representing financial institutions in negotiating, documenting and working out complex commercial financial transactions including syndicated credit facilities, health care loans, asset based transactions, sports franchise financings including transactions facilitating the acquisitions of professional sports teams, project financing, second-lien transactions, government contract financing and a wide variety of other secured and unsecured credit transactions. His clients include banks, commercial finance companies, equipment leasing companies, second-lien lenders and private funds.

Jim represents financial institutions in bankruptcy matters (including debtor-in-possession financings) and workouts and restructurings, including the representation of administrative and collateral agents in bankruptcy proceedings and out of court workouts of complex syndicated credit facilities.
