George Cunningham is an associate at Gebhardt & Smith where he represents a variety of corporate clients in a diverse practice field, ranging from commercial litigation in state and federal courts to corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate matters. Prior to joining Gebhardt & Smith, George served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Charles B. Day on the United States District Court for the District of Maryland.
George earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Maryland School of Law in 2017, where he was awarded the William P. Cunningham Award for service to the Law School and the Litigation and Advocacy Award for achievements in intra and inter-school competitions. He was the Executive Editor of the Journal of Health Care Law & Policy, as well as the President of the Entertainment, Arts & Sports Law Association.
George graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2011 with a B.S. in General Biology and a B.A. in Criminology. Prior to attending law school, George served as a full-time volunteer with AmeriCorps at a New York City parochial high school. George is also an avid outdoorsman and sports enthusiast.
